Durham Tech is preparing to open the Novo Nordisk Life Sciences Center, a state-of-the-art facility on our Main Campus that will address the growing regional demand for skilled biotechnology and pharmaceutical manufacturing professionals. With more than 600 life sciences companies located in the Research Triangle region—and over 2,600 new jobs announced in the past 18 months—the need for a strong talent pipeline has never been more urgent.

This $35.2 million, 35,000-square-foot facility will house 12 advanced laboratories, an aseptic manufacturing suite, and collaborative learning spaces that support hands-on training for over 400 students annually. The BioWork, Biotechnology AAS, and customized workforce programs are already delivering results, and this new facility will allow Durham Tech to expand access, strengthen industry partnerships, and prepare students for high-wage careers that fuel the region’s economy.

We invite you to invest in the future of life sciences workforce development by securing a named space in the Life Sciences Center. Your support will directly shape North Carolina’s talent pipeline while ensuring that underrepresented and first-generation students have equitable access to industry-aligned training.
